We recently stopped at this unique airport cafe for lunch on our way to Pine, and I must say, it was an interesting experience. The place was packed which says a lot. The staff was friendly and accommodating, promptly seating us upon arrival. The cafe is decorated with airplane items, giving it a distinct and charming atmosphere. Our grandkids talked about the decor most of our stay. A highlight of our visit was witnessing a military helicopter fly in, which our grandkids found quite fascinating. When it came to the food, however, I have mixed feelings. While it wasn't necessarily bad, it fell into the realm of mediocrity. We wondered if the cafe might be better known for their breakfast options which is served all day. I had the BLT chicken salad and was a bit disappointed by the bacon. It didn't taste like “real” bacon, which was a letdown. On the other hand, my granddaughter enjoyed her spaghetti, which was loaded with goodies compared to the typical noodles and sauce found on most kids' menus. But the garlic bread that came with it was… awful. I even had a bite and agreed that it was awful. My hubby had the Open Face Hot Roast Beef Sandwich which he said was good. Our grandson had the chicken strips which was nothing special but he ate all the chicken but left the fries and didn’t want to take them with us. Despite the underwhelming food, I would consider visiting this cafe again, mainly for its charming atmosphere and friendly service. If you're an aviation enthusiast or simply appreciate quirky decor, this place will definitely appeal to you. Maybe we will come back and try the breakfast foods.
Wonderful diner! When we first arrived I was a little worried about the portion sizes but my wife and I both left full! The pies are a must try
Very cool atmosphere. Service is great, food is fantastic. The biscuits and gravy are huge recommend to share it. The French toast is also amazing. 10/10
This is a fantastic traditional American diner. They built it right at the center of the Payson municipal airport, so you see planes landing, and taking off as you’re enjoying your meal. The servers are really nice. The place was very clean. The French toast was OK, but the pancakes were really good. The gravy and crispy hashbrowns were perfect! The Spanish omelette was delicious, with the salsa being an excellent topping. We will definitely be back! The prices were very reasonable. At least a dozen locals told us it is the best breakfast in Payson. We agree.
Good mom and pop feel. Food was hot and service was fast. Friendly staff. Kids enjoyed seeing the planes last and take off
Oh my goodness!! What a fabulous restaurant with DELICIOUS food for both breakfast and lunch!! We’re visiting Payson and have been twice a week already! For breakfast we had the Western Omelette and got hash browns (added onions) and a pancake. WOW! The omelette was fantastic and the hash browns were crispy and delicious! The pancake was huge and very tasty. Simple but WONDERFUL. We will definitely be back to try more of the omelettes too! The menu looks great. For lunch we had a Ground Beef Dinner and a Grilled Ham & Cheese on Sourdough. They were both fantastic. And even better was the sample they gave us for Fried Fish! It’s NOT on the menu but they have an All You Can Eat Fish Fry on Fridays. So we will definitely be back for that!! The view is beautiful. The restaurant is at the Payson Airport so we watched small, passenger planes taking off the entire time we ate. The ceiling is covered with unique model planes. It’s a fantastic place for children who love planes too! There was a toddler behind us loving it! Lots of seating and friendly, fast service. Highly recommend!
Great staff, delicious food. Breakfast all day. Cute things to buy/ fresh made pies. We did see a small plane and helicopter take off. Other planes were on the ground. Price more like $8-$13 per person.
Their menu is fantastic! Tons of sandwiches, BREAKFAST ALL DAY, burgers and pies. You can see planes take off and landing while eating. Tons of parking and everyone is very kind.
